Our founders

Mark and Emma Harris

Harris Made is the studio of Mark and Emma Harris, British and US dual nationals headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois. Emma is our designer and co-founder. They are passionate about their bespoke work and rich British manufacturing heritage, and they built the studio around it.

More than 300 institutional clients come to Harris Made for the same thing. A recognition gift that belongs to them alone, that a development office can afford, and that a donor will be proud to carry. Universities, hospitals, museums, foundations and corporations all find their way here when an ordinary gift will not do.

Every project begins the same way. With a conversation, a pencil, and a story only your organization can tell.

Our process

How we work, in three steps

From the first conversation to the moment your gift is unwrapped, every stage runs through Emma.

A conversation with Emma

As part of your design consultation, you will talk with Emma, our designer and co-founder, about your needs, dreams and potential constraints. Importantly, to help with design inspiration, you will chat about what makes your institution special.

Design is everything

Emma is brilliant at weaving your unique story through her designs and brings them to life through subtle, less-is-more pattern repeats. As part of our bespoke service, we make samples for your approval before final production.

The art of gift presentation

This final step of our process is equally critical. After passing our rigorous quality controls, Emma personally inspects each gift one last time before hand-wrapping it in a client-branded luxury presentation box. Inside, we print your message of thanks on a high-quality notecard, and on the reverse, we share the provenance of your thoughtful gift.

Bespoke means we start from a blank page.

Bespoke refers to all our one-of-a-kind handmade gifts, created exclusively from scratch to your exact specifications, that offer unlimited choice and client collaboration. Unlike custom manufacturers, we do not simply modify existing, pre-designed products.

That is also our promise. Our bespoke gifts are always exclusive to you and otherwise never available for general purchase.
